Joining the Opera Company is quite straightforward - just turn up, sign-up, do a simple singing audition, pay your subscription (the subscription is currently £20 for the year) and, if OK, you are in.
The audition is to ensure that you can hold a melody while others are singing a different melody - and also to voice place you so that you sing in the section that best suits your voice.
There may be a simple acting and movement audition but this is up to the producer - but nothing to worry about.
Rehearsals usually take place on Tuesday evenings in the Milburn Academy school hall starting at 7:30 pm and finishing at 10:00 pm.
